Research Interest: Years ago my mother (since deceased) told me there was an Iroquois Native American in the family. A couple years ago, I contacted my uncle, my mother's last surviving sibling, to see if he knew anything about this. His wife, my aunt, had done a lot of research into Mom's family and had turned up a lot of information, although the best she could do re: this person was the name of my great-great-grandmother, who was supposedly half- Indian. (She was also said to be half Blackfoot, not Iroquois.) The information I have is that Frank Alphonse Didier, born 1845 in New York City, served in the Civil War 1862-1865 in Capt. James Stewart's Company K, 146th Regiment of NY State. He married Christine Goebel Becker in June of 1867. We have no further information on Christine Goebel Becker. Anything anyone out there could do to help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. --Corky Visminas corkyv@ustrotting.com
