Research Interest: I am trying to find the father of My great Grandfather b. 29 OCT 1861 John William BARNES Jr. John William BARNES Sr. Family legend passed down by my father Venton BARNES from his father Fred Guy BARNES is as follows John William BARNES SR. and hi s wife Caroline YOUNG both died and left John William BARNES Jr. an orphan. He then was raised by relatives. No one seemed to know which relatives but he grew up in Appleton City, Missouri. He died there 24 January 1940 at the age of 78. My researc h over the past 30 years has revealed no clues as to the whereabouts of the parents John William BARNES Sr. Caroline YOUNG. I have no dates for either just names given to me by my father. John William BARNES Jr. married Emma HOUSE in Pike Co. MO.
