Research Interest: have family history of Laurens Mttsye Banker in America 1673 New Amsterdam to 1997. NO DOB we think he came from Holland between 1650-1673. Name first appears in New Amsterdam as Laurens Mattysen and variations and around 1680 starts using Banker. We do not know why. He probably spent his final days in Sleepy Hollow most of the history was found there. He was one of the first member of the church and for some time lived with his wife on Philipsburg Manor. Married first to Jannetie Hendrickse and second to Niejese De Groot. i am trying to find where he came from and when and why the name becomes Banker. Also looking for surname MATTYSEN
