Research Interest: I am researching the life of Samuel Ashley for publication. Following the Civil War, Samuel migrated with his family from Missouri, arriving in Colorado in 1866. They eventually settled in the Saguache area of the San Luis Valley in Colorado. He serv ed in the 3rd Missouri Infantry CSA with General Sterling Price and Chaplain EM Bounds. Once in Colorado, he was elected county judge and territorial commissioner. However, he was a cattleman by trade. As well as an active member of the Baptist church. I have documented several details of his life in Kentucky, Missouri and Colorado. However, there's always bits and pieces out there just waiting to be discovered. Let me know if you find any.
