Research Interest: Lewis M. Micajah Asher born ca 1861 in Davenport, IA to Charles and Sarah Eldridge Asher. He married Agnes May Noble on 10 June 1886 in Davenport. Agnes was born 19 May 1864 near Buffalo, Scott County, Iowa dtr of Irad and Lydia Myer Noble. The N oble family settled in Scott County in 1836 and were members of the Scott Cnty Pioneer Society. Lewis worked on the roalroad as a brakeman adn consequently the family moved frequently. According to Scott County divorce records, Lewis deserted Agnes and the 3 children Gertrude May, Charles W. and Irad Lewis on August 25, 1893. Agnes returned to Davenport from where where she sued Lewis for divorce in November of 1895. The divorce records state Lewis was employed by the Chicago, Rock Island Pacific Railway and was not a resident of Iowa. Nothing further is known. Agnes remarried and I have that information and the Asher children's names and birthdates. places.
