Research Interest: Francis or Frank Amick was my grandfather Piney was a sister to him John Amick was my father he died in 1986. My grandmother Gertrude Martin Amick was raised in Michigan. My Great grand mother was Sarah Caudle and her husband was named John Martin. I understand greatgrandfather was French and Sarah was French and Spanish. I would like to know more about the f amily before 1879 when my grandmother was born. The only other child that survived was Ann born ten years after my grandmother. Ann had two son Andy and Herbert Stover. I know Francis Amick was in the Spanish American war stationed in the Phillipines. I have some articles printed in an Indiana paper that were letters he wrote from the Philipines. My grand father dies in the late 1940s in an auto accident. My grand mo ther died in 1965 in Portland Oregon. My fathers siblings were Annamay Betty and Francis or Frank William. My Mother was Charlotte Templeton born 12/8/1917 died 7/30/1995. My mothers parents were Baryd Templeton Jr. and Gertrude Van Winkle. My great grand father was from Scotland his name was Bayrd Templeton He held a PHD from Notre Dome and was a priest he fell in love with a woman and his brother married her he then came to the United States where he met and married Margeret Simpson who had been w idowed twice before he met her. She had two children and they had two children together. Margeret came to this country as an indentured servant. My great grandfather sered as the sherriff for Cauldwell Idaho. My great grandfather Van winkle married Nellie Im not sure of the spelling Grauman or Kraulman. He owned Van Winkle studios, I have many pitures with his studio name on them.
