Need prior history on my paternal grandfather, John Douglas Alexander. After birth in the early 1860s in eastern Canada he married Charlotte Shepherd in the early 1890s. His birth history is unknown other than it was to an unwed woman. The surname Alexan
der does not exist prior to his birth I have been told. The above location is that of his first born child my father, George Maxfield Alexander 12/13/1896 in Salem, Oregon.
