Research Interest: Attempting to find history about my fathers father. Supposedly born in Eastern Canada in the 1860s of a union with an unwed mother. My father was born in Marion County, Oregon 12/13/1896 his mother's name was Charlotte Shepherd Alexander. This informati on is accurate and I would hope provide the starting point in researching history of my grandfather whose name was John Douglas Alexander. Information from my fathers sister is that the surname Alexander did not exist prior to John Douglas's birth.
