Research Interest: My grandfather said she came to Illinois from Kentucky walking beside the wagon with her brother Jeff. She lived in Scott Co., Illinois and married my ancestor William Batty there in 1849. He was a widower with nine children. They lived in Greene Co. unt il their deaths. She had a sister living with her named Cassander/Cassandra Jane. In 1850 census for Greene Co. Cassandra went by the name of Jane and married Daniel Foster of Scott Co. Ruth Ann named her children James Francis Batty, Mary Ellen Batt y, Nancy Ann Batty.
